5 Years of Kwikball

Wow, haven't done the old wordpress in quite a while. But I only know the exact day I started F3 because skipper took the time to write out a backblast five years ago so I owe it to our newest FNG Grimace to do the same.

So in attendance was Bartman, Skipper, Cauliflower, Callahan, Gutenberg, HSM, Mamas Boy, Press, Manny, Redenbacher, Badland, BOGO, Coco Crips, Singlet and FNG Grimace.

Now as a good and responsible Q I was at the site an our before the workout to set up the field for KwikBall, paining lines on the fields, trimming the grass and setting up the speakers. Now there had been quite a bit of cross region chatter about an EC run. And it was decided we would start an EC run at 5:15, unfortunately a route was not decided. Coco, Badlands, Bogo and myself took off and started running. I was following Coco but after a while I asked what the route was, he said the Green Level guys knew the route. Later Badlands caught up and I asked if he knew the route and he said Bogo probably knew the route. Bogo then said he was following Coco and it was clear YHC had screwed the pooch quite thoroughly on this EC run. We were now about 2miles away from the site with only about 10mins till start time. With the hope that someone magically knew a shortcut back gone we turned to plan B of just run as fast as fn possible.

After sprinting the last two miles back and sweating more than Pholoaf and Happy Gilmore combined I showed up 8mins late for my own Q. Luckily Skipper had already informed the FNG not to sue us so it was off the Kwikball Field. Quick sorting of teams based on how long you've done F3 with 4years being the cutoff between veterans and newbies. Same set up as always, one team kicks the ball and the runner has to complete exercises between the bases and the fielding team has on person who stands behind the kicker and runs to wherever its kicked. Seems like it should be simple but it always devolves into glorious chaos. The newbie team struggled with the concept of not trying for the next base when the other team is about to hit you with the ball and the curious strategy of someone whipping the ball at Redenbachers head, even though they were on the same team. Anyway the veterans prevailed by a score of 5-2.

COT and then naming of FNG will. I'll admit not my finest work, being way over time and still recovering from the EC sprint we took a XBox handle of CaryBurgler into Hamburgler and then Grimace because of a purple shirt. We truly are the best and brightest of male community leadership.

On the off chance anyone is actually still reading this thing (in which case I'm sorry) I do want to say thank you. This group has been a blessing I can't even explain in my life the last five years and it has made me a better person and I can't wait to see what the next five years brings.
